Recently refurbed with a new chef at the helm this place is outstanding. Attentive service, local ingredients, outstanding brunches. I look forward to trying their new tasting menu which launches in July apparently. Best breakfast/ brunch I have had for a while and a great addition to the North Laine in Brighton
5 * for this gem.
Staff great, attentive good sense of humour, and happy to serve.
Food - had a burger with cheese and bacon, it was delicious.
Ambience was beautiful and quirky, nice touch with bottle corks. Many more details than what I can mention here.
Blue moon beer was served chilled.
Cleanliness - from what I could see it looked clean.
We had breakfast. I had the black pudding waffle which I highly recommend, although portions could be larger across the board. The beef and potato dish was a bit dry, it needs some kind of sauce to balance out how salty it is too. I would go again but strongly advise people not to order anything off the menu - my colleague wanted eggs on toast and ended up paying 7-8 quid for something very mediocre.
The Great playlist of minor swing and 1950s library tunes.
