It’s Korean and Japanese. Can it be any good at both?
Thankfully the answer is yes. The portions and quality are amazing. Nicely authentic and whilst the restaurant is small that’s the only downside I can think of.
Pricing is also decent given the way many other restaurants continue to put up prices, this feels a bit like pre 2019 again.
Excellent. Visited tonight in a group of four and we all really enjoyed the visit. I’m a big fan of Korean cuisine and thought the food at Kuma was some of the best I’ve had.
We had bibimbap, japche, KFC, kimchi pancakes, gyoza and bulgogi. Every dish was good and the food arrived pretty speedily, but was obviously freshly prepared.
Restaurant was buzzy and full for a Thursday evening- if we hadn’t booked we would not have been able to get a table. The staff were friendly and we felt well looked after.
Will definitely be back.
Don’t really want to write a review in case it gets too busy and we can’t get a seat in the future! But this place was really busy when we went there on Thursday - booking is recommended. The staff were friendly and helpful even though it was busy. The menu is a good balance of Korean and Japanese and they were all tasty and reasonably priced. Jigge was great and so was beef. I’d try more Japanese items next time - this place is worth a visit.
