This is basically a drinking pub than an eating pub. The building itself is Victorian and is kind of charming. The seating area outside is the best place to settle with a drink or two. The tables inside the pub on the top left kind of appear sticky and this section gets warm and stuffy after a while. All in a all its a decent pub which is a foot place for the Farringdon contingent.
On the day half of central London was shut down (London marathon), my friends and I ventured to the quiet Clerkenwell pub for Sunday roasts. It was everything you want for a Sunday roasts with friends: good roast, fairly cheap, relaxed ambiance and friendly staff.
We went here relatively early on Sunday as we were starving. It was relatively quiet at the time but soon filled up as the day went on. As we stepped in, we were ushered upstairs and quickly placed our orders. I ordered the 'Free-range Cherry Orchard pork loin with crackling', which was a good decision as it was delicious (although anything with crackling is usually delicious anyway). Overall, no complaints.
I tried my local pub Crown Tavern Sunday roast in Clerkenwell.
They have a very large menu of roast with: pork, beef, lamb and chicken on Sunday.
All roast are delicious...
Probably my favourite local pub for Sunday roast!
