This is basically a drinking pub than an eating pub. The building itself is Victorian and is kind of charming. The seating area outside is the best place to settle with a drink or two. The tables inside the pub on the top left kind of appear sticky and this section gets warm and stuffy after a while. All in a all its a decent pub which is a foot place for the Farringdon contingent.
On the day half of central London was shut down (London marathon), my friends and I ventured to the quiet Clerkenwell pub for Sunday roasts. It was everything you want for a Sunday roasts with friends: good roast, fairly cheap, relaxed ambiance and friendly staff.
We went here relatively early on Sunday as we were starving. It was relatively quiet at the time but soon filled up as the day went on. As we stepped in, we were ushered upstairs and quickly placed our orders. I ordered the 'Free-range Cherry Orchard pork loin with crackling', which was a good decision as it was delicious (although anything with crackling is usually delicious anyway). Overall, no complaints.
I tried my local pub Crown Tavern Sunday roast in Clerkenwell.
They have a very large menu of roast with: pork, beef, lamb and chicken on Sunday.
All roast are delicious...
Probably my favourite local pub for Sunday roast!
Stopped by on my way back from dinner, fast service, nice atmosphere and good beer. Didn't eat here but the menu was up and looked much like you'd expect from a pub...
This pub is near to my work, and is always good for a post-work drink, although it does get very busy (especially in the summer time). They have a very nice gastro-pub style menu with some tasty options. There is plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs and a pleasant atmosphere throughout.
I really enjoyed this pub...we got served quickly and staff seemed polite enough. There is an area outside and we were able to get a table which was great. I imagine you'd have to get in early to secure a seat.
Interior was classic and pleasing to the eye, great location to start or as part of a bit of a pub crawl. Friends seemed to enjoy the wine and plenty on tap to choose from. Also, there's more room and dining upstairs but I never got that far; go check it out.
One of the few pubs that have specialised people to explain to you what type of beer you should try. I find that very professional .
The place is elegant with a touch of mystery. Very specious and equipped to host small but also big parties.
Definitely, it's worth having a cold, delicious pint of there.
Brilliant staff, food and atmosphere. Staff couldn’t do enough to help with my nut allergy and the food was very tasty. There atmosphere had a real buzz and was lovely to sit and enjoy it after our meal.
We hired the Apollo Room for a work function. Great communication leading up to the event and the evening itself ran super smoothly. Amazing food and service! We will definitely return.

Really nice local English pub in Clerkenwell Green. Great spot to sit down and enjoy a beer if you’re around the area.
Very spacious with tables distributed around two floors and outside sitting. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Standard Menu with beer, wine and soft drinks, as for food, I’ve tried the “beyond meat” burger and fish & chips both were good, not a gastro-pub.
Nice pub, busy for Clerkenwell design week. Outdoor area heaving in summer. Not much seating, standing room only mostly.
Great food. The best pie I've ever had in a pub. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.
The best pub in Clerkenwell without a doubt. Friendly staff, great food and drinks options catering for all requirements with a lovely outdoor space for a sunny day. Would visit over and over again when in the area.
The service is fantastic here, everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The food is good and it gets really really busy on weeknights. They are also so super helpful when we bring our dog!
The staff led by Camilla were excellent. We had the Apollo Room for a meeting of 20 people for lunch and drinks. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was very good. Thank you for a successful day. We arrived at 1200 noon and left at around 7pm
One of my favourite pubs in the area. It's especially nice to sit outside in the summer but also very cosy on the inside when it's not so warm. The staff here are always very pleasant and polite.
Lovely traditional pub dining and atmosphere. Original interior with lots of history between the walls that staff can tell you about. Plenty of seating space in the historic square.
Awesome boozer! Great service lovely staff. Great beers on tap! A top notch place a a quiet or lively evening in town
It was all really great - we were a group of 7 with two young kids and you made sure that we had everything we needed and didn’t make us feel like a burden (kids are loud and messy!). Both the food and the service were really good.
Very tasty food. And is historical place.
