Patisserie Valerie is just perfect for breakfast, we tried the Pain au chocolat that was fresh & delicious and had a cappuccino. Lovely Place with friendly staff. Recommended!!
I was very happy with the food and service. We had Afternoon tea and every last bit was delicious. We left full and satisfied. I’d be happy to try one of their Mille feuille next time.
I pass this place on a regular basis and there is never a time when its not busy and even more so now that we are heading into the Edinburgh Festival time.
I opted to go in here for a sweet treat lunch. I have to say that this place is more geared up to deal with tourists who either speak a foreign language or dont mind having rude service. I was eventually greeted by one of the waitresses who sighed heavly and showed me to my table.
The only reason I give this place 3.5/5 is because the food and drink are good and my waitress who took my order and looked after was very nice.
I ordered the Madame Valerie Cream Tea - 2 scones, cream, jam and a pot of tea. A bargain!
The tea was well brewed and I was delighted once again to find a teapot that pours without spilling! Hoorah.
The scones were fruit scones, very light with a slight vanilla taste. They are very uniform in shape and well baked. The cream was clotted cream, thick and super creamy; and my waitress brought be 2 jam holders so I had 8 jams to choose from! I chose the raspberry after all that.
MY waitress was lovely and friendly, quite chatty.
This is a super busy place, with noise levels to match. If you can put up with the constant flow of people, lots of children and chatter AND want to eat some great pasties and cakes, then head here!
My previous visit I had some cakes so there pics on here of them too!
