We were staying nearby so decided to try here. Not been to a beefeater in years. We felt the main courses were expensive and pretty dull. So decided to mix it up and get 4 starters to share plus a side. It was a very large portion but overall good.
Puddings were tasty too and great cocktails. Generally OK if you think outside the box about what to order. Our waitress was lovely too!
Couldn't fault the food itself, the roast dinners were amazing. The service from our waiter was also faultless - he worked very hard to make sure everything was as good as it could be. I've knocked a star off due to what seemed to be poor behind the scenes management really. We'd pre-booked a table for 17 people at 3pm with over a week's notice, and yet when we arrived our table wasn't ready because they'd been under the impression the booking had been cancelled. Not sure why, I'd only phoned the once to book it. The restaurant was also very short staffed. As a result we weren't eating until gone 5pm and were there for around 4 hours in total. Bit tricky to keep young kids entertained for that long on empty stomachs! They'd also run out of roast beef by that point so several of us had to change our order. Again, the staff were very accommodating and knocked money off the bill for us, so all in all a solid 4 stars
I went there for breakfast with my grand children, there is a special offer during the school holiday ( 1 paying adult, 2 under 16 free). Very friendly staff who kept busy replenishing the food trays. The bacon and eggs were delicious and the apple juice was very good. We all had a lovely experience. Tasty food, professional staff and a bargain!! We will definitely come back.
