We visited today lunch time with torrential rain falling down. The main car park was full and we had difficulty parking on the road outside. Making our way to the cafe we saw that the side gate by the cattle grid was locked so we were forced to walk across the grid in our heels and with the heavy rain which wasn't at all safe for elderly people or small children.
The cafe was surprisingly full (despite appalling weather). Staff were helpful, friendly and there was a nice atmosphere there. It looked lovely and clean.
We all has jacket potatoes with side salads and were happy with the meals and portion size. Due to the weather, we didn't look at the plants for sale but there seemed plenty to chose from.
Had brunch here (early may2023) choosing the tefu halloumi, pan fried peppers, tomatoes and balsamic glaze. It arrives within minutes of my sitting down and was delicious, empty plate says it all. 11.15 am and busy a few free tables but staff were brilliant, welcoming and efficient. Cannot fault this gem of a cafe and garden centre with a nice drive to get to it.
Have visited many times and always impressed with the quality of food and service. Lovely indoors and outdoors. Also used for catering for staff event and everyone complimented both taste & presentation.
We stopped for breakfast and it was good- overcooked eggs, coffee delicious 😊 After 9am still very quiet and an hour later all café filled up with customers 😊 friendly staff 😊
My visit here was so unexpectedly more than I’d imagine it to be.. from the bizarre thriving plants, trees, cabins with hot tubs. I only went for food😊 and I was not disappointed however I’m now fed up of trying to recreate the open sour dough sandwich which was FRESH herbs the way it was constructed .. the taste.. that’s without the coffee ( I’m a coffee snob) it was still boiling after I’d eaten my food and strong but milky… highly recommend to all..
