A really classy place to have a drink and try some of the real gins of the world. It's unreal just how many combinations of gin, tonics and accompanying ingredients they have and it's good value for money. We also got some of the best tapas I've ever had free with each round of drinks we bought.
Avoid the riff raff and duck in here and you won't regret it.
We will be back.
So glad we discovered this place on a rainy Easter Saturday. Over 500 gins! Would have loved to sit there for a few weeks trying them all! The tapas was tasty; the service and staff were great; and the best selection of gins I have seen. If you love gin, this is the only place to go! Also there was a 'gins of the day" menu which we thought was good value, but all the gins were reasonably priced. If ever in Newcastle again I will definitely go back...for longer! Ideal location if you are waiting for a train as not very far from the main railway station.
We arranged to meet friends at the Continental for a 50th birthday celebration. It was booked a couple of months before, and the manager got in touch to finalise details two days before the event. Paloma was very friendly, professional and accommodating. When we arrived everything was ready. The drinks and many tapas we’d ordered were fabulous. The service was very friendly, attentive and efficient. Food was superb and the range of gins and other drinks ( should you not like gin) was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, and we wouldn’t hesitate to go there again, or recommend them to others. Thank you very much Paloma and all your staff.
