I LOVED it. And sometimes wonder if I am from a different planet when I read some of those nasty, absolutely WRONG Google reviews.
I wonder.. do competitors write them?
Anyhow, I was there with a Groupon. And while I was there, there was also a nasty old guy who came with his wife. RUDE as can be. Also with a Groupon, insulting staff and just a terrible person.
I had an issue with changing simcards, and was promptly helped by the concierge.
I had lived in London for almost two years, a d never had a proper afternoon tea with clotted cream, jam and scones.
The cakes were lovely too, I got a free tea refill (4 cups of breakfast tea all in all), and the cutlery WAS clean.
They are a dog friendly hotel and they have pictures on the walls with funny cat and dog quotes.
The lounge is cosy and lovely, I had a window seat. If I were more affluent/had a ormal person budget, I would consider the hotel very affordable. As is the afternoon tea.
They open at 13, and it is basically a full meal, with cakes, scone, sandwiches.
I wasn't a fan of the cocoa bread (in combination with the salmon- the sal.on was great), but the scone was big, warm, fresh and delicious with the cream and jam. The cakes were also very tasty, and the sandwiches all come with different types of bread, from white bread with herbs to cocoa bread.
Tea was good, they have brown sugar cubes, cater to and are knowledgeable about allergies and will take care of your furry friend if you bring them. Staff are very courteous and helpful.
Also, it is easy to find, on the left side of the yard it says Tara tea room. You would have to be blind not to see it. (Since this was commented on).
The only thing missing was a spoon or thong for the sugar cubes.
