Its a little more than your standard pub. With their 'Beer of the Week' offers for £3, a varied range of obscure beverages and as a stockist of the publication 'Vice' it should be a staple watering hole for any Crystal Palace resident.
This is my favourite pub in Crystal Palace but we are spoilt for choice so it's hard to choose (sorry to the others this has just captured my heart the most)
It's a great old building with an interesting middle. It has a good selection of drinks and just enough ales to keep the man happy. I was super happy in winter when, not only did they have mulled wine, they had mulled cider too, YUMMY.
The food here is top notch for a pub. The best fish finger sandwich I have ever had (and I know you might be thinking 'fish finger sandwich, what's so special about that?' but try it and you'll see!) it's home-made battered fish fingers in a delicious soft bun. It's just fit, okay? Which is why I was particularly happy that they accommodated my request for one when I hadn't realised they weren't serving it one particular evening.
Anyway, I do go on.
The Sunday roasts are great, rumour has it they are the best in CP, which is probably why it's so hard to get a table on a Sunday, prepare yourself for potential disappointment of no space.
The pub quiz on a Monday is very good, hosted by an upcoming comedian, he provides a variety of questions but with added interludes of group rock, paper, scissors where the ultimate winner gets a free drink. I also got a free joke that I now share with all my English language loving friends.
The garden is great in the summer with lots of shady bits to keep cool.
It even has a mini vintage shop selling cute hats, scarves and haberdashery.
Just... go here, yeah?
I really enjoy the nachos from this place and the burgers are pretty good to great atmosphere
