TLDR; Phenomenal value with very authentic and delicious food. Super convenient location but the decor was a little unconventional.
This is a gem tucked away behind the Surrey Quays overground station. The food is authentic and extremely good value.
We came here for the lunch special which runs daily until 4pm. £6 for a main and drink or soup.
There are many dishes to choose from. Dishes from across different regions of China are on the menu.
My favourite was the beef brisket soup noodle. The broth was super flavourful and the noodles had the right amount of chew.
The sweet and sour chicken was good too. However, it’s a little more vinegary and less sweet than usual. This is probably to reflect the northern Chinese style of this restaurant. The sweet and sour usually served in the UK is Cantonese styled from the south. Overall not bad.
As for the restaurant itself, it doesn’t pretend to be fancy or posh. It’s authentic and good value. The decor is a little strange with graphics of Mao and his party lines everywhere.

The food was so good. It taste kind of very authentic #chinesefood with lots of interesting chinese special food options in the menu. 🤤
I had King Prawn Chow Mien and Head Fish Soup with Tofu, while he had Green bean noodles in gravy. All of them were really tasty. But my favourite was his food actually, the Green bean noodles in gravy. 😋
They have the whole bass steamed fish. We're planning to have this next time we go there. 😁
The portions were generous and the staffs were very friendly, and the service was very quick. They accept card payments, which gives it a big plus point! 😊
Very very recommended and definitely a must-try restaurant whenever you're around Surrey Quay or Canada Water area. 😉
Great local Chinese restaurant that server very authentic dishes. I was very surprised with the quality and variety. Hard to expect to have a better experience then in China Town, but it totally is. Menu has plenty of pictures that help you enormously and prices are very friendly.
