After walking past this restaurant many times, we decided to stop by for an early Sunday morning breakfast. Not too busy during our visit. We enjoyed sitting at one of the outside tables after ordering our food at the indoor counter. Two delicious lattes, complete with fancy heart artwork with the milk (always a nice touch). We tried two of the paninis on offer. The tricolor with nice chunks of avocado and the tuna melt with oozings of cheese. Both were very tasty. When ordering our paninis we couldn’t help admire the great selection of pastries on offer and so decided to indulge in another latte each and share a giant Bakewell tart. Will certainly return to sample more as we were very impressed with our selections.
I popped into the cafe with my parents during one of their visits to London, after stumbling across it during our wander through the docks. I can't comment on its main menu choices, but for a drink and a cake I'd definitely recommend a visit.
We'd actually had lunch earlier but skipped dessert, so were specificially looking for sweet treats. I had a chocolate orange tart which was excellent – although, so chocolatey that I had to save half of it for when I got home! I also tried a bit of my Dad’s Red Velvet cake which was pretty perfect, and my Mum’s carrot cake has an ACTUAL ICING CARROT on top.
The slice sizes for the cakes were really impressive, and the service was quick and easy. I'd definitely pay another visit to St Katharine Docks Cafe if I was in the area!
Good food and a cozy atmosphere. However, the menu description was misleading; I didn't expect my salmon to be prepared the way it was. Overall, a pleasant experience but with room for improvement in menu clarity.
