Amazing hospitality and Amazing food. The Curry goat pie was amazing! Everything you want in a pie and more.... the cocktail well let's just say they don't scrimp on the alcohol.... The lovely waitress' were so kind and accommodating. Great recommendations and great service. Would have ordered dessert but I was so full.
Visited yesterday in the evening. I shared the prawn starter with a friend and it was really very tasty - the shell's a little irritating but it was so flavourful, it was worth it. I then had the curry goat pie for main which came with very smooth mashed potato. It sat on a bed of kale (I think) - lovely texture and the sauce was pleasant too. The pie was ok and if anything unusual and very filling. We ordered a side of mac cheese and about that I'm very fussy but I have to say, it was delicious - once again very tasty with a yummy, crust ... the best I've had in some time. My friend had the sea bream which she allowed me to taste. Now this was definitely the best but way too many bones!!! It took her ages to eat because she had to keep stopping to remove them. If they could retain the flavour but fillet it (& yes, I know bones aid flavour but it's not impossible ) then Wow, it'd be my 'go to' for sure.
For drinks, I’d give the Kingston Mule cocktail a try. Nice - just the right side of potent. The non-alcohol mango drink was also very good.
There were a few negatives though - we ordered a pina colado which was way too weak and watery. They changed it graciously so that was good.
The waiter was friendly and respectful but not very knowledgeable about the menu. He had to keeping leaving us to answer our queries. My friend had to ask if he was new, which of course he was. Hopefully he'll get on top of it all soonest.
Also, my friend said that she'd recently been to their other branch, 'Nanny Marroon' in Soho. I hadn’t heard of it. She said the menu was way more vast so she struggled a bit with the limited menu at Maroons - I agreed. Especially on the mains … it'd be great if there were a few other choices.
Having said that, all in all, I would visit again. A very nice evening.
I recently dined at "Maroon" and can confidently say that it was a fantastic culinary experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting from the moment I walked in, with a contemporary yet cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home.
Maroon’s menu features a wide variety of delectable options that cater to a variety of dietary preferences. Each dish was prepared with meticulous attention to detail and a one-of-a-kind combination of ingredients that complemented one another perfectly. I particularly enjoyed the Kingston Mule cocktail, which was sweet, refreshing with the 'right' amount of rum!
Maroon provided excellent service, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff that anticipated my needs without being intrusive.
My overall impression of "Maroon" was positive. The combination of good Caribbean fusion food, a warm ambiance, and exceptional service made for a truly memorable dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a culinary adventure that will leave them wanting more.
