The food Is nice here, nice located bar and open space area. Service is on point here, as well as you can catch up on your sports here as well.
If you're looking for authentic (north) Indian food, this place is well worth a punt. Conversely, if you want to be impressed by expensive furniture and like taking selfies in trendy places, you're better off looking elsewhere. Sea Rock is a 'members club' type restaurant where the food does the talking.
Make no mistake, it's clean, it's tidy and it's certainly somewhere you can feel comfortable. But it is definitely not decorated with dark wood carvings and there's no sparkling ornaments from the motherland; it's plain yet colorful and it's simple, yet sufficient. I've known of its existence for about a decade, but never got around to trying it out. Last night my wife and I did. Nothing planned, purely on a whim.
First impressions are that it does look like a members club: a prominent bar and multiple television screens conveniently placed for comfortable viewing. Most of the patrons appeared to be locals. The furniture is basic (but clean). It wasn't very busy to begin with, and even when the numbers did increase (of mostly Indian appearance) we didn't really notice a change as it's very relaxed and has a very discreet atmosphere about the place. I found myself looking at the decor and furniture as we waited for our orders, but as soon as the food was presented, nothing else mattered. It delivered.
I even sneakily glanced around to see what other people were eating and everything looked as amazing. The lamb was freshly cooked; the chicken was succulent and moist; and the lassi I had with my meal was one of the best I've ever had (made by someone who knows what a lassi should taste like).
There are no frills here and definitely no gimmicks. The chef, we were told, is Punjabi and Punjabis don't mess about. Without question I would visit again. Those tandoori chicken wings were amazing!
First time at Sea Rock, the ambience and atmosphere was lacking a somewhat, however the food was very decent.
Service was on the slow side, and it would have been a nicer experience if the staff felt a little more motivated. Just seemed lacking energy, despite it being not that busy. The enthusiasm was just not there.
Attended a Birthday party. Selection of food in Buffet was good, it was freshly prepared and tasty. The servers were fantastic, even though the restaurant was busy with their general clients tgey still had time for the private party.
Excellent food with bright atmosphere waitress kajal was more like a hostess the lamb on the bone curry is second to none. I strongly recommend this restaurant
Fantastic local Indian bar and restaurant in North Finchley with a brilliant variety of delicious dishes ranging from super tasty Tandoori Prawns to Chill Paneer and one of the best sizzling Lamb Karahi's I've ever eaten, all served with ice cold Cobra beers and chilled bottles of Perrier water.
Also my friend and I both loved the tropical fish aquarium in the middle of the restaurant and the incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive service - really top notch and great value for money.
Sea Rock is a must visit if you love good quality Indian food and you also like sports - they often have the football and cricket on the TVs so you can enjoy a curry and watch the game with friends or family. (Also bonus they are dog friendly!)
Highly Recommended 10/10 - we'll definitely be coming back very soon
Loads of screens/ screens for live sports.
The food is really good, if u like heat do yourself justice and get the spicy version of the desi lamb. Atmosphere is a bit confused, but if youre there primarily for dinner id sit at the back, potentially quieter. For the sports the front of the resto has better viewing angles. Good service, our server was helpful with suggestions. Definitely worth a try.
