Good Sichuan food. I was born in Sichuan and would like to think have discerning palate when it comes to Sichuan food. Number 10 is a delightful local find that does staple sichuan food extremely well. On the other hand I am not particularly impressed with its other regional offerings, so advice is to stick with the standard sichuan dishes:
fish in sizzling oil, beef in sizzling oil, guan gong beef, mapo doufu, dan dan mian, suan cai fish, qing jiao sliced pork, xiang la crab etc.
There are better restaurants to try northern china, cantonese or fusion asian food, but in the meanwhile you can get all your sichuan fix here in Number 10. Weii
This place is good place for Chinese. I find it a good value for the pound. But what I love is that you can do take away here later than other restaurants in the area close. ;)
Yes, those are chillies and numbing Sichuan peppercorns scattered on top of a huge pot of sliced beef swimming in oily chilli sauce. Yes, that is a thick layer chilli oil at the top. And yes, it was crazy painfully delicious.
