We stayed locally for an event in Hyde Park and popped here for breakfast the following morning.
Lovely little deli and cafe, we all had a lovely breakfast with great friendly service, and the Shakshouka I had is honestly the best I have tasted.
Absolute gem of a place
Spoonful is one of our favourite places, anywhere! The food is delicious and there are always interesting, high-quality items available (meats, cheeses, produce, various condiments, pastries, sweets, wine, pastas, etc.) We go for breakfast (try the tartine or the French toast!), lunch (try the panini!), and dinner (try a big platter of meat and cheese with a bottle of wine!). It's a place full of passion for food and drink. Most recently, we chose Spoonful to cater some pre-dinner platters for our wedding, and it was even more amazing than we expected. Our guests were thrilled, we were thrilled, and we'll always remember the food when we think of that special day.
Just a gorgeous little cafe across the Hammersmith Bridge, surrounded by the locals of Barnes. This cafe is small but sweet with great produce to offer. If I were to compare their shop with a product of theirs, it would be the coffee. Rich yet light, the coffee is conventional which reflects the atmosphere of the shop. I don't mean your standard quality at a branched coffee shop e.g. Starbucks. By the word 'conventional', I am referring to the quality that is used in a typical Parisian/Italian coffee shop, abroad where coffee actually has meaning. Spoonful seems to bring back this idea of what a coffee shop is actually supposed to be like. It is a shame that there are many shops that lack quality and choose the more commercial side but Spoonful seems to offer authenticity. Just like the coffee, the food offered is superb bringing back a taste of culture.
I am grateful to have found this place and would highly recommend a visit to this small business. In today's world, It is not often that you come across shops like these. So do not take it for granted.
