Through a doorway squished in the middle of a line of shops on a busy road and down some stairs you find this little piece of Persia. Dark wooden decor and the smell of spices entice your senses as you take your seats and prepare for the feast.
I highly recommend a mixed starter 'Sini Mazeh' which incorporates 4 traditional dips & pickles with an impressively large Naan. You can bring your own booze here, they charge corkage but they also have a small selection of beer, wine and soft drinks, including Doogh (a traditional salted mint milk drink), not my taste but some of the men there were downing jugfuls of it!
All of the kebabs tried so far are very tasty and you get plenty of them. The only thing is it could do with being a lot more saucy but you can order extra sauces on the side if you desire. The spicy one goes well with the Joojeh chicken I had and isn't too hot.
Service is efficient, there is one very friendly waitress there so it's nicer when you get her. The cool thing is that you can see through to the kitchen too.
A decent price for the quantity of food and they kindly box up what you can't manage so you can enjoy it later. They also do take-away so it's perfect for that romantic night out and just to grab a bite to take home on your way back from work.
One of the finest and very different Persian cuisine. I never tasted such falafels before. Aubergine starter with walnuts was surprisingly delicious. In main course everything in mix grill was so tasty. Definitely go back. Forget to mention fresh watermelon 🍉 juice which was so refreshing.
Really great food, go for the sharing platter! Make sure to get the flat bread! Great friendly service. Really love how it feels like a hidden cave. BYOB so grab a bottle from the corner shop... Or triangles new posh wine shop!
