Stumbled upon this tearoom when visiting for the day and what a delightful little place tucked away in the courtyard. Very quirky with the kitchen upstairs but such a warm welcome and very vintage with the theme running throughout from the decor to the crockery. I had a warming hot chocolate with a little extra in a small jug to top up! Nice touch! My hubby had a cup of tea which only appeared small in the vintage teapot but he was pleased to get 3 cups out of it! What more could you ask for. We sat outside in the courtyard which was pleasant and my daughter made best use of playing with the dolls house. Defo worth a visit.

What an amazing little gem in the heart of Knaresborough! We stopped here for cappuccino, one of the best we have had in a long while! I had a scone with jam & clotted cream;delicious. Hubby had a yummy toasted tea cake. We loved the attentive staff, quirky ambience; vintage bits and bobs & the music! We chilled & played scrabble! A perfect end to a wonderful afternoon x
A lovely tea room catering for vegetarians and vegans.
I had the humus spinach and pine nut sandwich which was delicious and a generous portion for a very reasonable price.
The menu has a very good selection of dishes including a good selection of vegan options, some dishes include vegan meat and/or cheese, many don't, so they cater for a wide range of tastes. Something for everyone.
They also have a good selection of cakes, but they're upstairs in the kitchen, so make sure you take a look, I missed out. I'll know next time, and there will be a next time!
I was passing through on my bike and decided to stop off for a bite and a cup of tea. I was so glad I did. The tea was great (in a fancy pot) and the poached eggs with spinach were perfection. Also the staff were so welcoming. Icing on the cake was a lovely quiet courtyard to sit in and a blackbird that serenaded me through my lunch. Can't fault the place.
Absolutely beautiful place to relax with some light food.
It's like sitting in your grandmother's lounge, very cozy and snug.
Highly recommend
A lovely little tea room hidden away in central knasaborough, been visiting knasaborough for years and never knew it existed but will definitely go back. The tea and coffee were top quality as were the cakes definitely worth a visit 👍
Also the 2 young ladies that were running it on our visit were extremely professional and courteous
Beautiful little cafe, full of memorabilia and curios. We loved reading the newspaper clippings and adverts on the tables and walls and looking at the quirky old toys and gadgets (like a Teasmade and original Paddington Bear). The cakes were fantastic - I had a truly zesty lemon cake (not too sweet, perfection 👌) and my boyfriend the fruit scone which looked great and he said was delicious. Will definitely be back.

I ordered the high tea and was not disappointed. The sandwiches were lovely! The scone incredible. I admit I had to bring the cakes home with me so can’t speak to those but heard others nearby saying how nice they were. The ploughman’s had diced apple on it which is a stroke of genius. So glad I stopped in! They take card and cash.
Amazing little find: vegan & gluten free options, everything is vegetarian. Very quick service, very helpful staff and dog friendly inside and out. Will definitely be visiting every time I return to Knaresborough. Gets busy very quickly though, so would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
Vegan review: Love this place so much, can’t recommend it enough! Had a great experience from start to finish, the staff were lovely and service was great. The decor was intriguing, so much to see and the vintage theme carried really well throughout the whole place stretching as far as the staff uniforms! I ordered a smoked tofu salad which was lovely, a chai tea and a lemon blueberry cake. I was so impressed that there were about 7 vegan desserts to choose from! I took a chocolate flapjack home. All the food was delicious! There were games on each table including playing cards, dominoes, yes/no and lexicon. There were also travel guides including the local and surrounding area. It all came to a very reasonable £27ish. Take note, they don’t accept card but there’s a cash machine nearby.
Found this lovely tea shop by accident looking for somewhere to get something to eat. What a lovely little place, the staff are really friendly and the food is delicious. It's really great value. We'll definitely be back 😊
Fabulous 1940s style tea room, situated in a quiet and lovely courtyard, you can transport yourself back to wartime Britain, with 1940s music gently playing in the background and the staff wearing authentic 1940s clothing. The soup, tea and cakes were excellent, if you want to feel a bit nostalgic about the 1940s a visit here is a must, a real gem of a place.
