An exceptional meal. We popped in last minute. Very big quality food- delicious. Although it’s not the cheapest in knaresborough, the quality and portion size represent excellent value. Great service, nice atmosphere- best meal I have eaten in Knaresborough for a long time!
Enjoyed a great lunch. Good coffee and Yorkshire Cider, plus excellent Merlot!
The mussels were superb, best ever, and the Sausage and Mash with green beans and good gravy very tasty indeed. My 11 month Grandson made something of a mess from the high chair he was given, with his toasted tea cake, which he loved. Followed up with cheese and biscuits - some tasty Wensleydale and blue cheese. The staff were excellent, and very welcoming. Having a young child with us was no problem to them. They also had a sense of humour, particularly the lovely young lady serving who gave us a sample of the cider, which turned out to be lager by mistake! No worries, it was changed and we had a bit of banter about it! Very reasonable price for such a quality meal. Will hopefully return.
Six Poor Folk is a wonderful gem of an eatery located in the beautiful town of Knaresborough.
On Easter Monday Karen & myself had a great meal there. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly couple who made us feel very welcome. Our starter was a delicious bowl of mussels accompanied with panchetta, onion and garlic in a rich buttery broth. Both our mains were also very tasty. Earlier Karen had briefly remarked it was her birthday and when the coffee landed on our table at the end the staff brought a piece of their 'parrot' cake (carrot & parsnip!) with a candle on top! This was a wonderful touch and really made our day! Smiles all round! We thoroughly recommend you visit Six Poor Folk!
