Booked in for a meal today as part of our Christmas tradition. We were welcomed and served by Natalie who made us feel very welcome. The pub was quiet but felt very homely with the decor and Christmas decorations. Between us we had turkey and beef bourguignon for main, both came mash and seasonal vegetables. For dessert it was Christmas pudding and custard, and berry tart; both delicious. A good selection of beers including 4 hand pulled ales. The piano is a lovely touch in the corner of the dining room. I'm sure we'll be back soon, Adam (Craft.Beer.Monkey)
Just had lunch here with my wife and family. The area we were seated in was so cold and not heated, we sat there freezing and uncomfortable. When the food was brought to the table it immediately cooled down, I had ordered fish, chips and mushy peas or should I say mushy cold pea as the portion was less than a small spoon in size. I think you can do better this.
We went as a family seven of us the food was excellent but unfortunately the service was not very good having to wait nearly an hour between starters and main course, if one of the staff had came and told us about the delay and perhaps offered another drink or something the stars might have been higher. Then, one of the dishes we ordered should have roasted veggies with it and three pieces of veg is not a portion, considering I saw someone else get a sizeable dish of the same veggies with the same main course.
Sorry we visited because of a birthday treat, and I was upset about it
