Welcome to the brand spanking new Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) digital hub. This community hub delivers the necessary digital training to small to medium enterprises (SMEs) who are needing to broaden their digital skills. These digitally focused workshops are often delivered by industry experts from company's as large as Microsoft and Google, along with some seasoned local businesses who are leading the way in terms of boosting their businesses online digital engagement. I attended three very informative sessions recently, delivered by April Conroy, HIE Project Lead, Keye/Abbey, #digitalgarage Trainers from Google and Leah, an #UpskillDigital Trainer, who all provided some useful insights into Search Engine Optimisation and its importance to doing better business online, the future of digital and technological changes and its effects on business and another session on how to boost social engagement online. Overall, the HIE Hub initiative is an excellent resource and addition to the local business community. I found the sessions on Facebook and Twitter engagement particularly useful and very informative.
Small venue.
Quality food.
As a hub of the Theory U, we had a skype meeting here. It's a lovely building with a water feature and good and attractive facilities. Unfortunately we found that our computer wasn't compatible with the great screen there so if you're going to skype as we did, check with Horizon first as to what is necessary to bring; we fetched more speakers after which, everything went well. Sad the cafe was closed that day, but a water distributor with cups was available.
