My wife and I left our son with my very capable stepdaughter and had a date night at Café Rouge.
Our server, Beth, was lovely and made sure everything was to our liking.
We had the garlic mushrooms to start. We ask for the vegan option which meant they did appear dry but the taste was great. I foolishly thought they would be battered.
For mains, I had the plant based burger with some onion rings on the side. The charring on the burger was just how I like it and and wife loved her Butternut Squash and Lentil Wellington. She particularly enjoyed the addition of the green beans in the salad although, they were a bit heavy with the dressing.
We didn't opt for a dessert as the only option would have been a sorbet.
A great night out!
Lovely food, I had the duck confit and sticky toffee pudding, and lovely waitress Deborah.
Only problem was there were a few children running around which was inappropriate for such a nice restaurant and my pint of Stella was flat. However, the glass just needed changing but after asking this was not done and my pint went flat again.
Visited this restaurant on a number of occasions last week. A slow start to our afternoon tea resulted in complimentary drinks, which was completely unexpected and showed their commitment to wonderful customer service. My birthday visit to Cafe Rouge then got even better with a free slice of cheesecake, which again took us by surprise. The afternoon tea was delicious and came with unlimited hot drinks if required. We left completely satisfied with our first visit of the week but returned on several more occasions for the same excellent service and fabulous food.
