My friend and I visited without a reservation on a Friday evening. The restaurant was busy so we were seated close to another couple who were deep in conversation. The restaurant is small and tables close together so do not expect privacy. We ordered a starter each, were offered water and glasses for the wine we had brought along. They sell beer and a limited selection of wine by the glass. The starters were fine and soon eaten before the mains arrived. We each had roast duck with noodles and bean sprouts in a Malaysian sause. It was very tasty the only down side is the way the duck is cut up - with a chopper straight through the bone so expect little shards of bone when eating. However overall very good food and reasonably priced. But it is full around 7 pm to 8 pm - go earlier or later for a bit of space.
If you're looking for a quiet, old-world, homely restaurant away from the bustle, this is the place. This small restaurant run by a couple, serves some great Malaysian food. I'd like to taste their chicken curry rice and chicken red curry again if I return to Edinburgh.
Good quality Malaysian in a basic setting. Very reasonable prices. Meals came out very promptly. Only downfall was the roti was not house made. Noodles were exceptional though.
