Stopped off for a quick lunch. Unfortunately the place is now showing signs of age. Upholstery, tables and chairs all a bit battered around the edges. If you can ignore that, the views are worth a visit alone. Not too many people in, so we managed to find a decent table and were quickly greeted by a very pleasant waiter. We both ordered burgers with a side of fries and onion rings. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and everything was delicious.
We had early dinner here last month. It was a sunny day and we had amazing views of the port from where we were seated.
The restaurant has ample and comfortable seats and the burgers are incredible. The bun to patty ratio is simply perfect. What I loved the most was to see that they have several vegetarian/vegan choices.
I had the Thai veg patty and my husband had the regular veg patty (cannot really remember which one). We also ordered an extra Thai patty to be served separately which we shared as an appetizer alongside sweet potato fries (tasted well too).
Moolah: 25 approx (for 2 burgers, 1 extra patty and a portion of fries).
Pros – Good food, friendly staff, beautiful décor, remarkable view of the port
Recommended – Catchups, early dinners, long lunches.
This is almost a DIY burger joint. Seated quickly in a comfy booth with fabulous views out to sea; menus are straight forward easy to understand with options of gluten free and a mix n match as you go.
Decide what you want then head up to the counter to place your order. I think they'd be better to operate a number system where you collect your order from the counter as I am unsure what all the waitresses do and there are quite a few of them! Never the less, the food is hot and delivered to your table in no time.
We ordered the burgers, fries, coleslaw and definitely what has to be one of the best milkshakes in Edinburgh. This is a great place if you want a quite bite.
