What a find! Greatly executed good with flair and creativity, small menu mostly centred on fish. The halibut crudo entrée was outstanding and the hake with chanterelles mushrooms and new potatoes also comes highly recommended.
The wine list boat smaller quality producers with even a section on orange wines (hooray !) High attention to details when it comes to service and decor. A charming place opposite beautiful green space made this one of the best lunch during my Scottish stay. Very highly recommended.
Had a great experience at Leftfield, had made reservations before seeing that they were mentioned in the Michelin Guide (no star yet, but some day?). Cocktails were OK, favabean juice instead of eggwhites for a vegan option is a kind touch, but the drinks were not spectacular. The food however was wonderful. The most tender fried squid to start, and a slow braised brined beef brisket for me and a local sea trout with pea risotto topped with kale for my wife. The flavor of the brisket was almost overwhelming, so packed with deliciousness and the servings were generous. Highly recommend if you are in Edinburgh, though it is about a 15 minute walk from the city center.
I dined alone here and had a great time. Everything I ate was delicious, fresh and the servers that night were absolutely warm and lovely. Would really recommend the hake and squid.
