Had a good night out in this bar and restaurant last night, the food was excellent and a very good quality. The staff are really friendly and helpful, definitely worth another visit the next time I'm in Leith.
This is a comfortable place witha central pub/bar area, and a seperate dining area . There is a board with the daily specials and the usual menu. I had the fish (sea bass) special which was delicious.
The service was a bit slow and the waitress seemed a little preoccupied and didnt seem to get the concept of customer service. But the food made up for her attitude.
I assume the waiting staff is usually a lot more professional and that was an off day, that's why they get the good review (4.5) the food was great but the service was definately a put off .
Shore chic. There are some great watering holes down on the Shore and this is one of 2 that are I regularly like to eat at (the other is the Ship on the Shore). It's small, quaint but the level of service is second to none - very professional. Sometimes, we like to eat in the bar area. And sometimes, we'll book a table in the formal dining area. Reminiscent of a proper fish restaurant; crisp white tablecloths, waiters in black aprons. A compact menu with great comfort food staples like steak and ale pie, and fish n chips. It's great quality food too. Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff who run the place like a well-oiled machine. Haven't been there on a live music night but they play good music outwith this anyway
