Family invited us over to this lovely community pub- and we were all impressed! Quaint characterful - yet modern, it was sympathetically renovated .
The White Swan's been in Gressenhall for over 500 years but in 2019 to save its future as the last remaining pub in the village it was purchased by the community. Over 6000 hours of volunteer work has created a beautiful village pub.
Food is fresh and local. We had a buffet of mini fish, chicken and bowls of chips: was very nice, not greasy, was hot, moist, crispy and tasty. Generous portions. Bowls olives and cheese yum!
I've been informed there was a good range of beers, many regional. Orchard Pig cider on tap (not local!) was pleasantly bubbly- medium dry/sweet, 4.3% Suitable for vegans and gluten free.
Lovely community pub supporting local community with friendly staff. Fab place we'd go again.
Superb village community pub. Beautiful from the outside, now an asset to the green with an interesting interior, clean and modern but still retains the character of a village pub. Food was superb (we all had Hunters Chicken with desserts). The service at lunchtime was fabulous - the lady at the bar made us feel like old friends and was attentive but not intrusive. We loved our visit here and hopefully will go again soon.
Our experience at The White Swan will definitely be a talking point with friends and family.
The food was beautifully presented, the portions generous and the chef is definitely doing something right as the meal was absolutely delicious.
We’d like to give a special mention to Tilly who was just amazing as she done everything possible to make sure that we had a lovely evening. Nothing was too much trouble and her positive and friendly approach was truly refreshing.
We will definitely be returning in the very near future.
