The thin crust meant that it didn't feel too filling, it had a generous amount of toppings with lots of flavour. The cajan chicken also had lots of flavour in the coating. The smoothies were refreshing and the customer service was really good. Lots of smiles :). Love the aesthetic of the place, will come back again 100%
Excellent lunchtime small goats cheese, beetroot and caramelised onion flatbread for lunch! Tucked away at the back of the Grafton Centre, it's well worth passing the larger chains to enjoy something different from Amélie.
Highly recommended and I'll return on my next visit to Cambridge.
This little restaurant would be "street good" if it was outside, but it has proper seating inside the Grafton, just opposite the cinema. This is a truly unique place, the only one in Cambridge that has Flammekueche on the menu (or whatever spelling they may choose for this famous Alsatian dish to adapt to the English; it is also called Tarte flambée in French).
Please understand: this is not pizza! Yes, the restaurant uses this term (probably to better fit what people here know), and they even offer a red, tomato-based sauce like on a pizza (for the same reason). You can't blame them: they need to sell covers to the public that has no idea what this dish is. And I read reviews here that call it 'pizza' as a result....
The Flammekueche is a very attractive dish, with white (cream based) sauce and a completely different dough. A variety of savoury toppings are on the menu, very wide choice, and most are delicious. I highly recommend this to you, both the dish concept and the Amelie environment and their pretty good rendering of Flammekueche.
