Utterly delicious food, imaginative options but nothing outlandish just wonderful produce cooked extremely well. The toasties were excellent, as you'd expect, but the poached eggs with choice of two toppings were a stand out with perfectly cooked eggs and mushrooms with a generous portion of smoked salmon. The bloody Mary brisket was also noteworthy. Can't wait to return, excellent value too.
On a whim, we tried here for lunch following a visit to the monthly makers market.
Nice welcome and show straight to a table. Both lunch and breakfast were being served. Great attention to allergies, black pepper, and soya, with visits to chef and back to us to explain what was possible. We went for two French Onion and mozzarella toasties and poached eggs on toast. A salad, minus coleslaw (soya - something explained to us) and chips as sides. The salad arrived quickly with picked Red Cabbage to the fore, hidden was significant amounts of chilli 🌶 a bit too much.
We were then left for a long time with no sign of the mains, which we had to chase after 30 or so minutes. Another short wait, and they arrived. The two toasties were really good. The poached eggs sitting atop mushrooms and heritage Tomatoes on toast was frankly disappointing over done and covered in heavy seasoning (eggs were hard boiled at best)
The food was less traditional than the usual run of the mill eatery's which was nice. The seating arrangements were good felt quite intimate booth style seating very comfortable. Service was good staff were pleasant and helpful. Would go back. ☺️
