Very quiet when arrived. Found myself a table and had a drink and looked at menu. Great selection of drinks here, prices for drinks about average. Staff very attentive and welcoming and menu explained. Small dishes, priced well. I would recommend a main and 2 sides as portion sizes of each dish can be a bit uneven so if you aren't sure between 3 or 4 dishes, get 3. Food is served quickly if you needed anything more. Food was *excellent*, cooked perfectly, looked and presented perfectly. Would really recommend. Unusual location being a bit towards the edge of the main town but very close to nearby Premier Inn Hotel but 100% worth the visit. 👍 👍
Despite being very busy the staff were accommodating and managed to find my wife and I a table for lunch. I was surprised at how nicely decorated the interior is and the staff are genuinely helpful and cheerful which translated to an overall friendly atmosphere. I had the beef pie and my wife had the Duck confit. The food itself was nicely presented, very tasty and service was quick.
We stopped here for lunch on route to the cost as it was close to A14 and was the best rated pubs in the town.
There is no parking at the pub and so we parked in some bays beside the pub that had parking restrictions between 8-10am.
The pub is nicely decorated, there is local artists work on the walls, the facilitates are clean and the staff are lovely.
The rear garden is large though there is nothing for children, though the pubs welcome children.
There is not a kids menu though they are happy to make the main menu meals smaller. Ideal if your kids are picky like mine. The children’s portions are still large and they struggled to finish. A beautiful lasagne and chips cost £10 for the kids.
The main meals my wife and I had were lovely too. I very much enjoyed their homemade house beef burger.
4 soft drinks and main meals for 2 adults and 2 children come to £65.
I am sure we will stop in here again. Be sure to visit.
