We were just in Southport for a week and someone recommended The Fryery. It's brilliant, really friendly people serving great food at very reasonable prices.
It was so good we paid them two visits, once for fish and chips, battered sausages and fishcakes. (We were a group of 6) I thoroughly recommend the homemade fish cakes they're huge! Everyone said all the food was really delicious. On our second visit we opted for the homemade chicken curry with rice AND chips. Huge portions, we loved it.
If you're ever in the Southport area, give them a go you won't regret it.
It may be somewhat annoying for some, but I personally feel inspired with confidence when the queue is snaking all the way out the door. Waited 20 minutes or so, but was worth the wait. Good size fish with great batter and chips just right. Would come again.
I have only been here once, but I am certain the standards will be the same.
One thing for me is that when entering a business - you should be greeted; even it's it's busy it's not difficult to say "hi *we have noticed you* we will be with you soon.
Anyway, every staff member greeted me which was pleasant. They were fairly busy - but with the constant cooking the food is ready to go -
I have been looking for a new chippy that just does it how I ask. I'm often told "we can't do that or if it's not on the menu it can't be done"
It money - and the food is available. Paying extra for additional items seems difficult these days.. I just don't understand.
Portions are very good, definitely not shy with peas and gravy.. (some you get one or the other)
Nice quality - not too greasy or too dry; clearly fresh.
100% will be back.
My only minor gripe is parking isn't very good. It's right by a small roundabout and most of the roads nearby have limited spots - however this won't change my 5* review.
Thanks everyone at the fryery
