Menu has a wide variety of seafood dishes, although if you don't like seafood (what do expect from a seafood restaurant) then there isn't much choice. Portions are well presented and good size since fish isn't very filling. check out the special offers on their site before you go to get some bargains.
Well done, Loch Fyne York, worthy of a great review! This was our first visit to Loch Fyne in York; we were really pleased with everything, and the restaurant is a top example of this brand. We booked in advance via the Web as it was Mothering Sunday, so we expected it to be busy. We arrived when it first opened at lunchtime, and It was quiet at first, but quickly filled up; I'm not sure if this is common for weekends, but it's worth checking.
The service was good despite the restaurant getting very busy, and they only appeared to have a couple of servers, who very quickly became almost overwhelmed but managed to keep diners happy.
We had mainly seafood and all dishes were cooked to almost perfection [check out my photos] and some of the best fish dishes I have experienced, we had a couple of specials and a burger for our mains, after some lovely fresh oysters to start. There was a good selection of deserts to finish the meal off well, and even my specific coffee request was handled well.
The prices are a fair reflection of the quality overall, top-class food, nice ambience, and knowledgeable happy servers.
Certainly worth a visit, it's not far from the centre of York, but just enough distance from the really busy parts.
