A lovely pub with well-planned spaces. More than ample seating whether you are a large group, a family or a couple. Children are certainly welcome here, but the outside playground
keeps children happily occupied and adults who prefer to be undisturbed by children at play, will be content. As a couple, we pop in weekly, although we have not had a meal at The Thomas A. Beckett. The chips are really good though, chunky and cooked just right. The meal portions are ample and well-presented and certainly look tasty.
I was celebrant at a (non-legal) wedding ceremony here in mid September and was very impressed with both the facilities and the staff at the pub. They have a perfect area for small private functions like this, which can be curtained off from the rest of the bar area; the staff couldn't have done more to accommodate the couple, who were able to provide and set up their own decorations for the event and the buffet food was absolutely superb (best sausage rolls ever!). Would highly recommend to others planning a small event in the area.
I have been to this pub a number of times and have never had any issues. Drinks are good, especially the raspberry mojito I’ve had before. Wanted to do this review however today because I ordered a glass of white wine, which I asked for ice in. The young gentleman behind the bar first added ice to the glass for a short while to make this cold before then getting rid of this and adding further ice to make the wine nice and cold. A little detail that was really appreciated and makes me want to come back again
