I initially gave this restaurant a 1 star review (reasons are below, I’ve left my original review) and said that I’d not give them my service again - yet I missed the amazing food. I decided to give it another try because A) I’d had so many great meals from them, none of which I’d reviewed and B) my initial review related to a single poor experience with service and notbthe quality of food, which is excellent.
Tonight (30/09/17) I actually felt the need to call the restaurant in order to praise the quality of the food. I’ve never done that before in my life but it was totally deserved. If you’ve not visited this place or tried it for takeaway do give it a try.
Original review:
Such a shame that this restaurant has ruined a 3 year run of great custom from me simply through arrogant handling of poor service. Many times I've waited over an hour for their takeaway (the place is a 5 min walk from me but I'm a single-parent and can't leave my kid to collect) and never made any fuss. This week it was 90 mins so I called up only to be mumbled at by someone about how it would be there in 20 mins. I asked to speak to the manager who told me there was some error with card details and someone had tried to call me (they hadn't). I complained and asserted that since the food was going to have taken 2 hours and my guests were leaving soon there should be no charge. This was actually laughed at by the manager. I then asked what compensation would be offered to such a regular and (surely?) valued customer? A main meal taken off. I accepted. The food arrived 20 mins later, there was nothing taken off the bill and clearly no problem with the card details that had been used as the excuse for delay since the card was charged as usual. I will not give them my business again.
my family and I have dined at this restaurant many times. The service, food and the décor are first class. I recommend the Sheek Kebab. It is a family run restaurant and this is reflected in the relaxed atmosphere.
