What an amazing find this gem is! Beautiful beer garden, great friendly staff and the food was delicious, the best hot beef and onion in gravy sandwich I have ever eaten…. Thick slices of perfectly cooked beef onion and rich gravy on thick toasted bread (brown or white option) thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.
Washed down with an Amstel which was perfect.
Had lunch in the Wheatsheaf, very quiet, hence atmosphere score. I ordered gammon, beautifully cooked, served with chips, egg, peas & pineapple-- couldn't fault it, the chips were great. My husband had fish & chips, again the chips were good but the fish only just ok. He had the chocolate fudge cake & enjoyed that. Lovely staff, reasonable price, would go again.
Is this a hidden gem or a local treasure? The pub itself has been a local main stay for years and now has new ownership which does not disappoint. It felt like a personal service with a smile and conversation with the food being absolutely delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend reserving a table in advance 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
