A much improved bar in the City centre.
Not inspected by Wolves Councils Scores on the doors yet but I'll edit when they have been.
Used to be notorious for rubbish staff being far too busy on their mobile phones to bother serving people but that no longer seems the case.
Menu is burger 'n' chips orientated but portions are sizable. Gets very busy indeed at peak times but seems one of the better bars now after a rough patch in terms of service.
Worth a visit.
Very popular student Scream bar in the centre of Wolverhampton, situated opposite its main rival, Varsity. Compared to the Varsity, Royal London has more of an indie/rock vibe. Seats in the front, and about three pool tables in the back. Seats are quite uncomfortable! Also, at night it is usually very busy and difficult to get a table. Standard pub menu in the day. Drinks reasonably priced, and reductions are available if you buy a Yellow Card.
If you're not a Varsity person, then you're a Royal London guy or gal (or should I say 'geeza'?). These two bars are in direct competition and are literally on other sides of the road, the only difference being is the decor and the fact that the Royal London as a pool table or two. Me personally, I prefer the Royal London as there is usually more seating and seems to be a larger property, so there is less chance of a Vodka Redbull getting spilled down your dress (although I cannot guarantee that)! Drinks prices are the same as the Varsity, and you get the same kinda crowd, i.e. students and the occasional smelly old letch, but that's another story.
