Hidden Gems!
How close have I been over the years and never know it was here.
Stunning location.
A tradition public house with a light and airy feel. Bustling but not too busy when I went in (Thursday evening).
The real ales were perfect and served with a smile.
Was the first one in after opening time, a warm welcome followed by a superb Bathams Bitter. Had a wander around the pub, I was in here just after first COVID lockdown. The place then had a steady influx of patrons. After perusing the menu which is reasonably priced, I had the faggots, chips and Beans. I can thoroughly recommend it. Washed down by another pint of Bathams. I will be back soon.
Was recommended the Great Western on Twitter so had a short walk around from where the boat was moored and wasn't disappointed, in fact the opposite - what a welcoming pub it is ! Loads of choice on tap and very reasonably priced too. I'll be calling in again ! The railway memorabilia on show and the decor was first rate too.
