I visited with a mate for a catch-up. What a fantastic pub! Good range of ales and other beers, very nice inside and a terrific beer garden by the river.
The staff were all friendly and really on the ball, doing the rounds in the garden to bring further refreshments. We only had sandwiches and fries but they turned up pretty quickly and were good.
It was a hot sunny Friday lunchtime and not as busy as this great pub deserves, it's only a ten minute walk from the centre and so much better than many of those in town. We will definitely be back soon!
Nice little pub !
Popped in by chance as it was lashing it down outside. Ended up having a few beers and some food. Good food and beer……Very relaxed atmosphere 👍🏼
Having been to The Willow Tree a few times over the years, it's always felt confused about its identity. Is it a local pub? Gastropub? Who knew.
However, the new owners clearly have direction, as after it's refurb, it's looking fantastic. We only stopped for drinks but the food looked great, and their outdoor area will be hugely popular in the summer. We'll certainly be back to try it out.
The drinks were very reasonable too. I had a soft drink to finish the night as I was driving, and a pint of Pepsi Max cost £2.00 - couldn't quite believe it!
I will certainly be back to try their food and support their new venture, the new owners clearly know what they're doing!
