After some serious book hunting around Wigtown we stumbled into ReadingLasses for a mid afternoon coffee and what a find!
Great service, nice drinks & the food menu looked amazing but the icing on the cake (literally) was the homemade tiffin. My default cake to have with a coffee is either homemade scone or tiffin so finding an amazing range of tiffins (now under the name of “The Quirky Tiffin Company”) I was in heaven!
The kids had salted caramel and I had lemon & lavender - seriously yummy. I’ll have to find lots of excuses to come back for more (although with tiffins like that who needs an excuse!)
I love this coffee shop come cafe come book shop. The staff are the softest spoken lovely ladies and the coffee and cakes devine. Every we are in the area we go in x just lovely x love light
So, I'm bookseller alone today. CEO and the other apprentice from the Old Bank off on a trip to the orthodontist. Decided to grab me a wee carry-out from ReadingLasses....and I'm just going to have to rave about the soup....soooooooooo delicious. If I'd been sitting in I would've been seriously tempted to ask for more. Get yourselves along to this unique bookshop/cafe. A fantastic atmosphere...delicious, oh so delicious food, great selection of books (stocking Virago, yes!) and lovely people. I might just have to shut the shop and escape for some tiffin!!!
