We stayed here for 6 nights for our honeymoon in mid Sept 23. The house is very picturesque from the outside and sympathetically decorated inside. In the nicest sense, it had a Faulty Towers feel to it. The staff were lovely and very helpful and warm. The room rate included breakfast and evening meal but, as nice as the food was, the menu didn't change all week so we ate out a few times. There is only one veggie option for dinner which was rather disappointing. The location is excellent, being just a short drive from Sandsend beach and also Whitby is very near. It's a very secluded, peaceful location but unfortunately, we were in room 18. This room is directly above the kitchen and the chef seemed to enjoy playing club music for the entirety of his shift- 7.30am to 9pm. We didn't complain about this as it improved mid week with a change of chef. The room was massive with an impressively high, firm bed. We had a separate bathroom which housed a lovely deep bath and roomy shower. In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Not sure if having the dinner option is worth it though.
We had a lovely stay. Our room was fantastic and the food was tremendous. Its a lovely building and the staff are very friendly and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The bar and lounge are very cosy and atmospheric.
The food in the restaurant was lovely. Its a slightly traditional place but that's part of the charm I think.
We had the dinner (3 course) bed and breakfast package and it was great value.
