Had a delicious lunch there yesterday. Yes we had to wait at the top of the stairs for 5 minutes but it's not their fault they are busy/popular. We are regulars and always highly recommend The Whaler to friends. The batter was so light and the fish moist and full of flavour. The portions were large and the accompanying tea (Yorkshire of course) was excellent as always. Rarely experienced such friendly attentive staff and I'm sure they were tired yesterday after a hectic Christmas period. If you've not guessed by now, it's probably my favourite fish and chip restaurant !

Visited today and the food was well presented and of the best quality which is noted on the price but well worth it also the staff were fantastic they were polite and helpful we will visit again : )

Quite Frankly the best fish and chips around. Chunky white haddock served in a mouth watering batter. Beautiful meal. thanks
