I have promised to visit this place so many times, but until now, I have never made it. Today is the day that my wife and I finally got to try it out.
it's rather a well presented building with lots of character built in the Victorian period.
The staff came across as very friendly and helpful with nice warm smiles that were genuinely ment.
As it was early on a Sunday morning. we had coffee. The price is very good compared to the mainline coffee shops, and not bad at all.
All in all, it was a nice experience.
My only issue was that the music was a bit on the loud side that made conversation a little harder.
Went in here as it was advertising hot drinks for £1.90 before 5pm. Looks better inside than out. Outside seating a bit past it. Inside was beautifully decorated. Staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. Good location. Would go back.
My wife and I arrived at The Royal Hotel opposite too early, about 1pm, to check in. We were hungry and Thirsty and found this bar. Outside and Inside it is a great building with lots of character. We were not looking for a big meal, so the menu options of only toasties and Pizzas was all we needed. There were no hand pump beers, but a selection of bottled ales. The toasties were good value and tasted good but, we were quite hungry! One of the bar staff gave me the feeling that he did not want to be there, while another member of staff was friendly and chatty. Most of the customers in the bar at the time were probably over 40, like me. I imagine in the evening the bar attracts a younger age group with music and a small dance floor.
