Enjoyable afternoon with family, really nice lemon cake and carrot cakes and good coffee. Had the Coffee & Cake special whicj at £5.00 a head is good value. Plenty of seating outside and the kids loved feeding the ducks and fish. The fishing side looked well-maintained and is extensive. Good facilities for dogs with a good walking area close by.
It's probably the best outside seating area of any cafe I have visited in the UK.
Today was a quiet day as there was no que to get served.
I started with a coffee and muffin. The muffin was fine, as was the coffee. The bill came to £5.
I then spotted on the far side of the seating area an ice cream sign. It was another gorgeous day, so I thought I would treat myself.
This changed once I walked over there as it was also a hotdog, burger, etc. stall. I don't normally eat hotdogs. However, I thought I would try something new and had a Wild Boar hotdog (£5). It was different, slightly spicy, and very meaty. The bun for me was a little too hard. I might be wrong, but to me, it wasn't as fresh or as soft as I would like. It might have been the type of bun. The main thing was that it didn't spoil the hotdog. It just would have been better with a soft bun, in my opinion.
Before I left, I visited the bathroom, which was very clean and tidy.
I also had a duck and ducklings waddle past me while drinking my coffee. First time I have had that experience at a cafe.
Lovely location. Food was tasty freshly made but no frills Eg no garnish with toasty ect. so slightly expensive for what you got
But quick service, condiments, milk and sauces self service . Lots of shade or indoor seating , and lovely views of the lake.
Lots of ducks to watch.
Very dog friendly. With a dog menu and ice cream.
