We stayed the night B&B.
We had one of the attic rooms which we found to be very much to our taste with its reused floor boards as wall panelling and the bath at the foot of the bed [the loo was separate :-)]. The room had lovely views of the church yard over the road with its resident sheep. The bed was very comfortable and we especially appreciated the complimentary decanter of port, kettle, coffee machine and copious coffee pods, tea bags and milk in the fridge on the landing.
For dinner I had pie of the day (chicken & mushroom) and I requested chips instead of mashed potato. The pie and spring greens were excellent and, while not cold, I would have preferred the chips to be a bit hotter. In the morning we both had the English breakfast and that also was excellent.
The Woolpack is a free house and at the time that we stayed there they had two Romney Marsh Brewery ales - I tried both and they were both excellent and well kept.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend the Woolpack for group events! We were a 13 person hens party and we spent a wonderful 4-5 hours at the Woolpack following a day of pampering at the nearby Green Farm. We had a private area which the Woolpack was more than happy for us to decorate as we wished. Ed’s communication was seamless and the service on the night was excellent. Extremely easy going pub with a great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Loved the place from the moment of arrival and knew within the first 20 minutes that it's heading for a 5 star review. This pub/inn stands out because of the special atmosphere due to a lot of beautiful design choices that keep the 16th century charm while making the pub super trendy. We are a 50+ couple but found that the place was packed with younger couples and groups (<35). Menu and bar caters for everyone. Staff very attentive. Booked B&B and staying in charming Niddy room. Loved the stylish and healthy cooked breakfast. And have a look at the outdoor area (see pics).
