Small and friendly, lots to keep little ones (under 5's) entertained. We were pleasantly surprised!

Always busy with plenty of delicious food offered in the cafe. The children love mooching round (even if they're on a second or third visit).

Always a great place to visit. All the exhibits are interesting and inform about the local area.
During term time there are usually 'treasure hunts' that are good for the children.
During the holidays they run craft, Lego, clay and story sessions that are very popular. (Use the website to book before they fill up.)

The artifacts collection is very interesting. There is also a real William formula 1 car. Nice café as well. It is free and donations are welcome.

For a small town, this is an excellent museum. It's free entry with lots of information about the history of the area, including information about King Alfred.

Really homely, friendly café with good coffee. Fabulous little town museum which was busy with kids and parents doing fun half term activities

Very cute place to take your kids. They have activity packs and a cafe. They often have special events on. It's very small but you make what you will of it. For example, they have lots of boxes under the displays where kids can touch and feel things. They even have smelling box. The staff are volunteers but polite enough. The food in the cafe is pretty good.

Really friendly staff and although I didn't go in the museum the shop and cafe is very clean and the books and maps are not very expensive. There is no parking outside, but free parking for an hour is available at Portway Car Park, Wantage OX12 9BX

What a gem. All sorts, beautifully displayed. Thoroughly enjoyed short visit with grandchild. Look forward to returning and also visiting cafe! Entry free but worth every penny of suggested donation.
