Some pubs can be a bit hit and miss in their roasts. Here I received an unbelievable hit. This place did not look like much from the outside but once inside it becomes clear that this is more of a restaurant than a pub. While it's identity appears a bit confused I have been informed it is under new management so I'm sure it will get there once it is a bit more established. Upon arrival we were greeted by the landlady (lovely person) and the resident dog (also lovely). I was with my wife and 2 children (both under 6) and we all had a truly wonderful dinner. My son said it was the best dinner he had ever had and the desserts were just as amazing as the main course. The only reason this did not get 5 stars is because it did not have baby changing facilities (not a major problem if you don't have a baby). Further, the roasts came with a side dish of "spicy" vegetables as well as your more traditional sundries. This went very well with my roast beef, but I struggled to see how it could compliment the other meats on offer (chicken and lamb) as they were a bit overpowering. I may be wrong. Give them a go and try yourself!
Gorgeous food in this friendly village pub. Our family of four with our two dogs received a very warm welcome at this newly refurbished pub. The food is all cooked fresh to order with fresh, daily fish available. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals as well as the beautiful, homemade pubs. Top class!
What a lovely welcoming place! We went in for lunch with our dog and were received warmly by the landlady. The food was absolutely delicious, and when our dog became restless, she took him off our hands for an impromptu training session while we are. The resident dog, Nikita, was adorable. If we lived nearer, we'd be back on a regular basis, would definitely recommend this place.
We got there at 8:30 which is when they usually stop serving food but they were nice and made some for us :) amazing service and amazing food, would definitely recommend this place.
Popped in with our dog for lunch. Even though it was just after the food time the owners offered a roast beef baguette and chips. The owners are super friendly, the food was beautiful and beer great. We will definitely return
That has to be the one of the nicest meals I have had since I stopped eating dairy. The owners couldn't have been more lovely making me a fresh vegan coleslaw, offering me the nicest food. And the burger was one of the tastiest my husband has ever eaten (so he says).
Definitely go if in the area.
We went here a little while back as passing on a long drive. It was late in the day and most places where closed for food as it was late on a sunday afternoon. The george were welcoming and friendly and managed to squeeze us in at the end of service far to my girlfriends relife as she was starting to get hangry and i had left the holy water and crosses needed to subdue her at home. The food was good and very well priced and the veg was fresh and plentifull the beer was very well kept and the pub had a loverly atmosphear. I promiced the land lady i would leave her a 5 star review as they where so friendly and welcoming and i have now done it just over 6 weeks late Thank you for your hospitality and we will definatly come back on our next trip through kind regards Rory and Lisa
