Costa Coffee

A bit of a strange review, as we turned on after a quite long walk in the rain, on a day when their computer till system had crashed and they couldn't serve any drinks, but all things considered, they happily provided a drink of water for my granddaughter when asked, and added ice and a straw gratis- so although we never got our coffee....we did go away knowing that the young lads behind the counter had done their best.

Made a mid morning visit for a couple of coffees and muffin. The Flat whites were as usual very nice, including one skinny and one with oat milk. Paid with gift voucher, which was easy. The staff were very nice, welcoming and accommodating. Tables were nicely spaced apart as some had been removed, but it was easy to find a table. The only small gripe I have is that when I saw a table being cleaned, they failed to wipe the chairs. Clearly customers will put their hands on the tops of chairs to move them before they can sit, and any potential viruses could be transferred to the next customer. That said, we will definitely visit the branch again if in the area.

Pleasant staff, service was slow due to trainee but still gets 5 stars because we have all been new in a job......not that I personally can remember my first day, lol, I always point out to customers that they need t be patient with new staff too. Nice to be able to sit outside and try and get some sense of normality in this distorted reality we currently live in.

Lovely looking shop. Nice staff and clean toilets. But why is their coffee so weak? Not just this Costa but all of them, I'd like to taste coffee not just milk. Doesn't seem to matter what you order, latte, cappuccino, flat white, they all taste the same, hot milk with a slight coffee colour and no flavour. This was my last time with Costa now, I won't bother again. The only thing worth ordering is the hot chocolate.
