Excellent cafe/tea shop, friendly well organised staff, nice tea, lovely caramel shortbread, great views of bustling Tynemouth especially from the many outside seats.
Despite often being busy this place is spotless. Even do a loyalty voucher scheme, get stamped get money off.
I went to Woods today for the first time. There was a queue but we had no trouble finding a table for 6 of us (4 grown-ups and 2 children). While carrying a tray of two pots of tea and 3 cups and saucers, at the same time as holding a child's coat and woolly hat under my arm, I managed to stumble and trip over the hat which had fallen to the floor and which I hadn't noticed. The cups and saucers smashed on the floor & I was mortified as well as quite shaken. But the staff couldn't have been kinder. A lovely young man rushed out and swept the broken crockery up, and then brought a fresh tray to our table. By this time I really needed my cup of tea and the chocolate brownie I had was excellent. Thank you Woods, I'll be back and will try not to cause any damage next time :)
Lovely cafe in Tynemouth. Delicious food and variety of coffee. We sat for ages in the sun on the comfy sofas by the door, your not rushed out. Lovely staff
