Food was very tasty we ordered
Starters -: coconut chicken strips , soup of the day(Broth) , Kids Cullen skink , kids garlic bread,
Mains :-
Adult fish n chips , kids Fish n chips and adult Thai red chicken curry
Dessert:-
Sticky toffee pudding
Millionaire cheesecake
Kids Candy sundae
The food was excellent really tasty and portion size was good. The only thing I feel could be added was the kids Fish n chips came with no vegetables. It would be nice to have had the same option for this as was with the adults fish. An option of side salad or peas would have been great. As the kids plate looked very bare. That is the only reason I have dedicated one star for the food.
Equally it would be nice to maybe see an addition of an option of cheese/pate and biscuits to the dessert options.
Note that the sticky toffee pudding came with a lovely amount of toffee sauce. Which was great as to often restaurants skimp on the toffee sauce
We will certainly be back.
Firstly, the restaurant is not signposted from the main road or even in caravan park, but it is next to the main reception of Greenwood Loch so just keep following the road and reception signs. For driving directions you need to use “Greenwood Loch”, and come off A98 directly. DO NOT follow Google if it shows you a route accessing directly from the south as that is a farm track! Once you reach the caravan park reception you will then see the second building just beyond and this is the restaurant. It is a new build wood structure with outlook over the small activity pond where they do paddle board and such. There is a large children’s play area behind the restaurant and nice surroundings with some outdoor seating if you want to spend some time before or after meal. The Sunday carvery was very good value £16.50 for 3 courses. Cullen skink soup excellent although let down by being served with a half slice of cheap sliced white bread. Why not a crusty roll? Main course carvery roast was lovely, veg and roast potatoes perfect. Dessert was apple crumble and vanilla custard (very good) but the crumble on top was soggy as if it had been refrigerated and the apple sauce had soaked into it. It tasted good but a shame to be let down on that point. Sticky toffee pudding my father-in-law said was good. Lovely staff and nice fresh decor inside and out. They also do takeaway but didn’t look at that menu. Overall a wee gem of a place for decent honest food at a fair price. Would happily visit again. £72 for 4 people including a round of soft drinks. **Dog friendly** well behaved dogs welcome in the Lounge Bar where meals can be taken. Our greyhound lay next to our table and was no trouble for staff, they were happy to step round her big gangly legs. Well done Blakeshouse for making her feel at home.
Been a few times and can't fault anything. First time we had our dog with us and he loved being centre of attention and the second time took parents out for a carvery. 3 courses for £16.50 each and the best meal we have had out in years. Would highly recommend 👌 perfect 🥰
