Have been going to this pub now for over 15 years, whenever I get to Torbay. Now run by the original landord's son, it is without doubt, the best pub in Torbay !
To describe it as "characterful" is to grossly understate the facts. If you have never been, it is an absolute must.
When "Wheelie" was still going, he used to pick me up in the morning to walk the dogs, and then back to the CaS, for a couple of perfect pints, and a plateful of Heather's Spag.Boll. Oh, happy memories !
The Sunday lunches are really fantastic. Been here many times now and never disappointed. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. Quite frankly, and I can only say this now my dear mother has passed, their Sunday lunch is even better!!
In my humble opinion, the music nights here are the best in the Bay. The standard of acts is very high and the sound is great. It's always an inspiration and having been many times I have yet to leave without a big smile on my face. Highly recommend.
